Windows Intune - Manage & Operate

You can use rules to configure Windows Intune to send email notifications about new alerts. You can create a list of email recipients and select one of four Windows Intune notification rules: All Alerts, Critical Alerts, Informational Alerts, Warning Alerts. Any new alerts of the selected alert type will generate an email notification to be sent to a specified list of email recipients.

In Windows Intune, you can add and manage license agreement information for software purchased through Microsoft Volume Licensing agreements and for Microsoft or non-Microsoft software purchased through other means. By using Windows Intune, you can upload Microsoft Software License Terms (MSLT) information to the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC) site, which enables you to establish which license entitlement corresponds to a set of Microsoft Volume Licensing agreements.

After a software package is added to Windows Intune, you can deploy the software to the client computers and mobile devices that are managed by using Windows Intune. After the software package is deployed, you still can manage the software by using Windows Intune; you can edit the software package, update the software deployment, or, if the application supports it, uninstall the software.

In the Windows Intune administrator console, you can specify which updates are approved for which groups automatically. You can create, edit, delete, or run rules that enable updates to be approved automatically. As such, new updates are approved automatically as they are published by Microsoft, and do not require manually approval.

You can use Windows Intune to administer the software update process for managed client computers. When new updates are available through Microsoft Update, an update notification is displayed in the Windows Intune administrator console. Each client computer evaluates whether an update is applicable, and you can then determine if the update is applied by marking it as approved. As updates are approved and installed, the update status changes to reflect the success or failure of the installation.

If you want to establish the status of the Active Directory and Exchange synchronization connectors with an on-premise directory to the cloud successfully, you can verify this at any time from the Administrator console. Additionally the Directory Synchronization tool writes entries to the event log. Directory synchronization errors are reported as well and sent via email to your organization's designated technical contact.
