This course offers an overview of the features that make up the new Windows Azure Virtual Machines and Virtual Networks offerings. This course explains the Virtual Machine storage architecture and demonstrates how to provision and customize virtual machines, configure network connectivity between virtual machines, and configure site-to-site networks that enable true applications that span from on-premises to Windows Azure. This course also demonstrates features that enable you to create highly available Virtual Machine-based services.
This module helps you understand what Windows Azure Virtual Machines are, what workloads are supported and includes discussion on the different images that are available as well as comparing and contrasting the differences between Windows Azure Virtual Machines and the existing VM Role in Windows Azure.
In this module you will learn about Virtual Machine Disks and Images as well as how you manage Persistent Disks. We also cover durability and availability of Window Azure Disks and Images, Virtual Machine Sizing and the Disk Caching feature in Windows Azure Virtual Machines.
This module outlines Windows Azure Cloud Services, Roles, and Instances and how they are leveraged with Virtual Machines. We will also cover Service Level Agreements and Windows Azure availability features including Fault and Update Domains as well as Virtual Machine Availability sets.
In this module you will learn how to connect Virtual Machines in Windows Azure. This module includes cross-premise connectivity, an overview of the Windows Azure Virtual Network feature and related scenarios, Virtual Machine Names and DNS, and coverage of protocols, endpoints, load balanced sets and custom probes used to monitor the health of Windows Azure Virtual Machines.
