Introduction To Windows Azure Training

Part of the larger Windows Azure platform, Windows Azure is a platform for running Windows applications and storing data in the cloud. This content will provide the foundational knowledge on the different aspects of Windows Azure including Compute Roles and Instances, Storage, and the Windows Azure Fabric.

This section will introduce you to the essentials of deploying Windows Azure applications and services, as well as provide you with an understanding of what is needed to allocate system resources while minimizing the potential of outages or service failures. You will be introduced to deployment techniques using both the Windows Azure Portal and the PowerShell CmdLets provided through the Windows Azure Service Management API. You will also be introduced to Windows Azure fault domains, upgrade domains, and geo-location capabilities. Finally, you will be introduced to VM Role deployment, which allows you to take advantage of custom images to support your applications in even more specialized solutions.

Managing Windows Azure: This section will provide the IT Professional with an overview of the key aspects of managing Windows Azure applications and services. It will introduce you to the new opportunities for identity management, VM Role patching, and managing IIS provided through Windows Azure Platform. It will also introduce you to some of the techniques available for managing Windows Azure using PowerShell and a community-developed MMC console.

This section will provide the IT Professional with an overview of the key aspects of monitoring Windows Azure applications and services. It will introduce you to the use of RDP to connect to servers. It will also introduce you to the Windows Azure Management Pack for System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2, and the process of diagnostics monitoring using Windows Azure Diagnostics.
