System Center 2012 Service Pack 1 Updates

In this module you will learn how System Center 2012 Service Pack 1 (SP1) App Controller (SCAP) can be used as a web-based self-service portal to manage your private cloud, public cloud and connect to 3rd party hosters. SCAP has been improved in many areas, including it connections to VMM, new ways of controlling access, better Active Directory users and groups integration, improvements in operating remote desktops, and easier manageability of virtual machines to make checkpoints, scale apps, and perform upgrades. Finally you will learn about how the Service Providers Foundation (SPF) feature can allow management of any 3rd party virtualization infrastructure using the oData protocol with REST.

In this module you will learn how System Center 2012 Service Pack 1 (SP1) Configuration Manager (SCCM) has improved device support, added a personalized application experience, simplified management, integrated security and compliance all with reduced infrastructure complexity. You will see how SCCM can take real-time actions based on System Center Endpoint Protection information. SCCM now has improved integration as a distribution point for Windows Azure, and it supports Windows 8 Apps, Application Virtualization (App-V), Windows To Go, Windows Embedded, Android & iOS devices, Mac OS, Linux and Unix including AIX, HP-UX, RHEL, Solaris & SUSE. Additionally you will learn about metered connection support, phone distribution tokens, the self-service portal for apps, and the ability to auto-update enterprise apps.

In this module you will learn how System Center 2012 Service Pack 1 (SP1) Data Protection Manager (DPM) has been updated, including adding support for Windows Server 2012 and SQL Server 2012. DPM offers enterprise class protection for Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, Dynamics, Windows Server, Hyper-V and Active Directory. You will see numerous improvements for backing up and restoring Hyper-V virtual machines, including support for VMs running on CSV disks or over SMB 3.0. Additionally DPM supports backup during all types of live migration for uninterrupted data protection. You will also learn about DPM’s increased scale and performance, integration with Windows Server 2012 file deduplication features, and the ability to backup to Windows Azure.
