Web devs, use your existing skills and code to build apps across all the major mobile platforms. Learn how to go from web to apps, from a team of experts with tons of real-world experience. From development tools to middleware frameworks and runtime, see what's possible with HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS, alongside the open source project Apache Cordova and with Visual Studio integration.

Courses

This course, for intermediate to advanced learners, provides an accelerated introduction to HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript and helps students learn basic programming skills. It also helps you prepare for Exam 70-480, a key component of the MCSD: Windows Store Apps certification. The Jump Start focuses on using HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript to implement programming logic, define and use variables, perform looping and branching, develop user interfaces, capture and validate user input, store data, and create well-structured applications. The course uses Visual Studio 2012, running on Windows 8. It is intended for developers who have at least six months of professional experience and who are interested in developing applications using HTML5 with JavaScript and CSS3 (either Windows Store apps or Internet Explorer 10 apps for the web). Although students may have little or no HTML5 coding experience, they should have some experience with HTML4.

Instructors | We’re excited to introduce  Jeremy Foster and Michael Palermo - two seasoned Microsoft Technical Evangelists who are experts in their field and share a passion for creating powerful solutions leveraging HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

This MVA course uses content from previous MVA deliveries on HTML5 and Windows App Store development to present coverage of the MTA 98-375 Exam outline. New developers looking to write applications for Windows 8/8.1 using HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript will find this MVA collection a great starting point for understanding what these technologies provide for app development. Although this course covers the key aspects of the MTA exam, it is not a complete exam prep or study guide that will allow you pass the 98-375 exam without further study and hands-on experience.
